I actually suffered from "Keretaconus" which translates to irregular shaped corneas. It is a childhood condition and you usually grow out of it, but I got it late in adulthood for some strange reason and I did not grow out of it and it just got worse. My vision without corrective lenses was 200/250, and with corrective lenses 30/45 the best they could do with glasses. After the surgery they are now 20/25 with custom hard Touric contacts, and I have to use reading glasses for very fine print. The contacts are not comfortable, but it beats bumping into poles...lol.
