Exclamation Transferred 7/70: Yes or No?

On Labor Day I purchased my baby, a red 2005 Roadster Ltd. As part of the deal, they (a Chrysler dealership) offered to pay the $150 transfer fee as part of the cash price. Agreed. This information was added to the bill of sale, and I was told the information would be made available to Chrysler Corp. on the following Monday.
After I drove home, I got on the internet and first found CrossfireForum.org (Thanks guys and gals!) then proceeded to explore Chrysler.com. When I saw the "For Owners" tabs, I opened it and then registered as the new owner of my '05. On Monday, I called them to ask for information about the 3/36 and 7/70 warranties. The nice gentleman asked if I would mind giving them information such as name, address, phone#, seller (dealership) and VIN to place in their records as a new (2nd) owner. I did so. All and good.

On Saturday last, I received a letter from D-C asking if I would be interested in paying the $150 transfer fee to extend the 3/36 warranty to cover 7/70 drivetrain as they had not heard from the dealer? I had to make a decision within 30 days or the offer would be null and void.

But I already paid this says I to myself.

Monday AM I called said dealership and enquired about the missing transfer fee and was told after 3 minutes that it was an error/omission by "the girl in accounting", and it would be taken care of that day (I talked to them at 7:30 in the morning). I then drove over to see what was up at 4:00 in the afternoon. The "girl in accounting" still knew nothing about it. I tracked down the sales manager, who witnessed the purchase 3 weeks hence, pled my case, and had the matter resolved with a 5 minute phone call and a FAX to Chrysler. He then proceeded apologize with heart, explaining that this was first transfer they had done.

Lesson to all:
Register at Chrysler.com http://www.chrysler.com/en/owners/ and go through the hassle of telephoning them to transfer ALL of your info, including the fact that you want the transferred warranty.
If you are the recipient of a transferred warranty, follow up on it. If you, god forbid, blow a jug on your new xfire, it would be a legal hassle to convince your dealership that they, not Chrysler, would now have to honor the warranty.

Best of luck, and check your six.
