Totaled Crossfire
Hi ,
As I posted back in August I totaled my auto and for some reason it seemed to take a long time for the insurance to complete everything. (I've never had an accident before so maybe it didn't take so long).
I bought the car on May 4, '07, so I didn't have it long, but loved it. So much so that I have hounded several dealerships about replacing it. I searched on line not finding too much from time to time. For instance one day a dealer I checked often, got in six red cars. (all six speeds which I didn't want).
I got up Monday morning and decided every day that passed the car numbers were dwindling. I had not gotten email or phone replies from my financial manager at my dealer of ten years. So, I call my Service and Parts manager who is my touch-stone to sanity at the dealer. I asked him who and how high up I could call on the spot. She is at one of their other dealerships locally and to go above her you have to see the owner which is hard. In ten minutes the general manager called and within the hour I had the VIN and date of delivery for my new '07 limited coupe, in black with slate / cedar red interior. This came with the promise of the same deal as we made in May.
BTW, this was the first choice combo I had for colors and couldn't find in may so ended up with the red which I loved. But the red does not have that interior which I consider to look really retro.
The insurance paid all but $800 on the loan and I have GAP.
I am very happy because the car got into my blood and I have really missed driving it. I knew it was one of those special opportunities in life and since I have a good thing going with my service manager and don't mind spending a little time with swirl marks, I'm set to go.
Thanks for letting me share.
