We didn't get rid of our Miata. We just haven't driven it since we got the Crossfire.
I've had mine 2.5 years now, and I still confuse the turn signal with the cruise lever every so often.
As for throttle response, you may just need to "reset" the cars throttle computer. It learns how you drive, and adjusts the throttle response time accordingly.
