Once you read the fine print, the plan is brilliant. After 4 or 5 years, Chryslers liability will probably be smaller than their old warranties.

The items that discontinue the lifetime coverage will, in my estimate, leave only a third of the vehicles eligible after 5 years.

- Its non-transferable ( how many folks get new cars every 2-3 years).
- The 5-year inspection will be missed by many people.
