I just put in a Kenwood in dash at Best Buy and was also told that I had to bypass the amp. The technician is a really good friend of mines and has been working on cars for over 8 years, 4 of those at Best Buy. I know he wouldn't try to rip me off or scam me especially since he didn't even charge me what he was suppose too! Anyways he told me he had to bypass the amp because the speakers wouldn't work. So I got a 4 channel Alpine amp and some Infinity component speakers. Let me tell the clarity and sound is so much worth it. It sounds great! Now here is the problem. I have no bass! I'm not a BOOM BOOM head but the bass is the one thing I loved from the factory system. Not to much not to little but just right. So now I'm looking for 6 inch subs to put behind the seat to replace the ones that are on there. We tried to connect the subs that are there but you can't do it. Granted I'm not the tech savvy guy at all but this is what I've been doing so far as far as the Video and audio in My SRT-6.
