I too was wondering what I did differently to get a higher trap speed.
One thing I noticed is that it seems the car shifts to 2nd (on its own) almost immediately and continues to spin if you aren't really light on the pedal.

The time I ran the 108, the car stayed in first (I feathered better I guess?)...then hit second and didn't spin. This is reflected in my 1/8 mile times, but my 60 ft is still bad due to 1st gear spin. BUT, the car didn't spin so much in 1st that it shifted to 2nd immediately...maybe that's the difference?
