One thing I noticed is that it seems the car shifts to 2nd (on its own) almost immediately and continues to spin if you aren't really light on the pedal.
The time I ran the 108, the car stayed in first (I feathered better I guess?)...then hit second and didn't spin. This is reflected in my 1/8 mile times, but my 60 ft is still bad due to 1st gear spin. BUT, the car didn't spin so much in 1st that it shifted to 2nd immediately...maybe that's the difference?
Chi-Town, keep us posted!
Are you all doing burnouts? Or just a quick blip to clean the tires?

I find it changes to 2nd early when it wheel spins too much in "drive" that is why I launch as below:
I find the best "launch" is achieved by putting it in 1st, holding the brake pedal with the left foot (to stop you "creeping") and as you hit the pedal, let go of the brake. This needs to be a small sharp application of the throttle (to limit wheel spin) and when that is controlled plant the throttle into the carpet quickly. In comparison to before, it feels like I never used to get full throttle" it is so different, but so much easier to wheel spin until you get the balance right. This is with Traction control "off" and the gearbox on the "S" setting.
I also tried holding the car with the brake and holding 1,000 RPM with the gas pedal, but this was not as good and made the wheel spin more unpredictable. The above method I have found to be more easily repeatable too after practice. You really only need apply a quick 1 - 1.5 inches on the gas pedal, if you get no wheel spin, floor it...if you get a little wheel spin, let it calm and then floor it...if you get no wheel spin, try a tiny bit more gas next time. If you get loads of wheel spin, keep practicing by using a little less gas initially. Also, the overlap of gas applied and letting go of the brake it almost "non-existent" (if you have a sprint booster) it should be almost exactly at the same time.
Using this method will give you a much stronger pull in 1st and a crisp change to 2nd gear at 6,000 RPM (and not before).
Let me know who you get on with this method.
