You would never hide them... unless you have damaged plastic lenses from a poor quality part. Either way, and I would know, I have the 38% tints (the lighter ones) and it does effect the light coming out, and I have H7 Sylvania Silverstars. Dims the light somewhat, if I could I would go with the HIDs.
