Paul, congrats on getting your car posted in that on line magazine. That "Carter" character must have really liked your car, to give ya such a backhanded compliment. Then not to find out about it until months later, must have made you feel pretty good too.
Something similar happened to me a long time ago. I participated in a Muscle Car Showdown at a local Dragstrip that was sponsored by a Muscle Car Magazine. I believe the year was 1988.
Anyway, my AMX was running exceptionally well during time trials, and I raced 3 or 4 different cars and beat everyone. Then when the actual eliminations started, my car "vapor locked" on my first run and it was all over right at the tree. So I put the car in drive and went down the strip at about 3/4 throttle. Back to the pits, packed up and went home, and forgot about it.
Flash forward to 1995, and I'm at a big car show and swap meet in Dayton Ohio, and I'm showing my car. Later on as I'm walking around the swap meet I find an old Muscle Car Magazine that has a car that I recognized from that Super Car Showdown I had attended so many years before on its cover, so I buy it. Later that night I'm at home, and I found out they reported all the E.T.'s of the cars that ran that day, and they listed the run I made when the car vapor locked. Which was 17 something.

But much to my surprise, on the 2nd. page of the magazine (above the index) there was a really cool photo of my car while I was staging. So I didn't mind them posting the slowest time I had ever ran in my life at the drags.
