I tried this product a while back for my driver side headlight to get rid of that "eaten-away" look that happens on the upper portion of our headlights due to UV exposure. Well my passenger side light was getting rotted away more severely than the driver, so I needed to do something. I mean I tried everything, 3M Cleaner/Polish, Meguiar's PlasticX, and some other Headlight restore stuff that's blue. I've High-grit sanded with all the products and nothing ever cleaned them.
So naturally I went back to this product that's made by Crystal View Chemicals and did both headlights. This time around I wasn't going to mess around and let me tell you both headlights look practically brand new. The passenger side (worse of the two) still has some nicks but the bad spots are completely gone and driver side is crystal clear with no imperfections noticeable.
I was skeptical at first cause it looks like a product you would get off an infomercial and I'm sure this product has been on an infomercial but it works.
Now if you catch the rotting away early you can probably use the products I tried before but if not this will do the trick. I got mine at a Advance Auto Parts for $20. I also recommend getting some masking tape and mask off the area around the headlight because the "clear coating" process does not like paint and you need to wipe it on, plus it's easy cleanup once you're done.
I wish I had before an after shots but I just got a camera charger today and I did it over the weekend. I'll take pics a little later and you can see where the imperfections were on the passenger side cause I didn't get everything sanded down as good as I thought but it's 10x better than what it looked like before. As far as longevity, who knows but $20 is better than a couple hundred on new headlights that might do the same as the old ones.
