Cool Re: Filters

I'm impressed with the results of his "test". It is hard to believe he shaved off 0.6 seconds just from filters alone. But it begs the question how well can the K&N or Greene filters filter if they let that much air in. I have had K&N filter on many of my vehicles. The throttle response was always considerable. Although I had never dyno'd before and after a filter change alone I suspected there was some gain I did see from the filters. Usually though the exhaust and intakes were modded simultaneously and dyno'd after both.

I may need to stop buy the store on the way home to get a pair. As posted earlier in a separate thread I am in the mid to high 12 seconds already and the car is completely stock. K&N could be a big difference.

I will be on the dyno Saturday morning assuming all goes well. I'll post the results. I am getting stock hp numbers for my car. I'll swap out the filters after the first 3 runs(always with proper cooling time for accuracy) and see what happens.

I have a sense that proportionally bigger increases would be seen on the track due to the ram affect our intakes have versus a dyno in a static position.
