Change your own oil! Get a little dirty and save some money.
I don't really care about a cabin air filter. I'll change it when my air vents quit blowing air.
Luxury cars including sports cars are expensive, that's why they aren't economy cars. Yes, the prices have dropped, but it was originally a luxury vehicle. Get used to it, or get a Hyundai Accent.
The dealers do suck, but I've had crappy Infiniti dealers too.
The issue here is "dealer rip-offs" from jacking up prices on parts for our cars, not doing it yourself oil changes to save money because we're being over charged for parts. But since you mention oil... Mobile 1 0W/40 synthetic, $6.19 a quart at AutoZone... my dealer, $10 per quart and that's just the only the beginning of how the dealerships are over inflating Crossfire parts.
Yes, European vehicles are famous for expensive parts, BUT a jump in price from $46 to $88 for a filter in less than two years??? Come on, that's a rip by the dealer on OEM parts plain and simple, and it has nothing to do with the Crossfire being a so-called "luxury" vehicle as you called it.
As for cheaper parts, in many cases that's exactly what you get with aftermarket items... cheaper parts, from a lowly oil filter on up. But that's all okay if you're happy with the way Chrysler and their independent dealers are running the Crossfire program.
So, please save the "

" for another thread/topic, and the get a "whatever cheaper car" statement for another post (which is getting to be an over used term here if one doesn't sing praises about this car).
The car is fine, even at the MSRP of 35k which I paid. Have I been happy with my Crossfire? Yes. Would I do it again, even at today's discounted prices? No. Already on this board you seen an increase of new owners who could not afford, or would not pay MSRP, trying to cut corners with the upkeep on their cars by wanting to use cheaper oil, gas and the cheapest tires they can find because routine maintenance and vehicle care is too high.
And just to set the record straight, I am happy with this car, it's how it has been sold and serviced by Chrysler is where I have issues. To me, Chrysler dealers have done everything they can to trash the Crossfire since it was handed to them by DC. Making "routine service" parts more expensive than they need to be is just one example... and a complete rip in an attempt to drive the Crossfire off their lots and out of their service bays. They desperately want to rid themselves of the Crossfire.
Thanks for your post, even if we don't see eye to eye on the topic.
