I've been considering a pair of those K&N cone air filters. But I've been wondering:
(1) If they attach to the two tubes extending forward just outside and under that engine cover (which I've yet not figured out how it is removed), how is it possible to get the filter cones on the cold side of the radiator? It looks like the only room for them is in front of the engine, but behind the radiator.
(2) Once the two new cone filters are attached, I presume one removes the two original air cleaner filter elements?
(1) <a> Just grasp the edges of the cover at the back and front, alternating and pull slowly but firmly straight up. There are like 4 clips holding it down, ease them each a little at a time.
<b> You are right, the filters will be on the "hot side". There is another ongoing link where a fella' has routed, "with no modification" using tubes down and below to the lower grill area.
(2) Yes, you remove the OEM filters from the air box.
