I tried that and still couldn't get good leverage, I was too chicken to bend it or throw off the balance/centering. I attempted impacting it off for what seemed like days (ok, just a few minutes, I'm impatient) and it wouldn't budge so finally I grew some ***** and went against my gut and tried something risky but it worked. Basically I unplugged all my coil packs and rested the breaker bar against the side of the engine bay under a large blanket for padding and then seated the 27mm socket on the crank bolt. A flip of the wrist on the ignition and then back off of it and sure enough, the bolt broke loose and I could take it out by hand the rest of the way. Glad we have powerful starters.

Then impact that thing back on there and you're good to go.
