Default Re: What's your best gas mileage??

Have some up to the minute figures for you.

From Hot Springs, SD to Casper WY - 25.5 MPG.

From Casper to Evanston, WY - 26.3 MPG.

From Evanston to Fillmore, UT - 27.8 MPG.

From Fillmore to Barstow, CA - 26.2 MPG.

About the first third of the trip was done at 65 mph but I'm guessing that the lower mpg was due to the hilly terrain. Last two thirds was mostly 75 mph with a lot of downhill traveling on the Fillmore segment. The whole trip I was constantly slowing down through construction projects so had to step on the gas to accelerate back to the speed limit. Also was stepping on the gas to pass trucks (did you know that the SRT6 can go from around 60 to 107 in the length of two tractor trailers while going uphill?).

Just a few notes - a member in another thread wrote how the car speed can creep up on you. No kidding, pass some trucks going uphill and if you're not careful you will easily be doing 20 over the speed limit.

Absolutely nothing fazes the cruise control. Uphill speed, uphill gradient, uphill distance - the cruise control just laughs and holds the selected speed. Impressive. The cruise control also accelerates the car with a touch of authority.

Middle-aged women across the midwest insist on calling the Crossfire "cute". It's a sports car! It's not suppose to be cute!

Arizona welcomes visitors with a big colorful sign. Utah threatens truckers with storm troopers if they don't pull their rigs over to the truck scales when entering the state.

Doing 80 from Las Vegas to Barstow means you will be the slowest driver on the road.

The Crossfire is an extraordinarily uncomfortable car to sleep in.
