Agreed, for a lot of people around Michigan its just a nice piece to be seen in, not your average mean of transportation but being used as such.

And yes, most of them are rude and don't even give a fellow XF driver a look over. In fact, I think they maybe bothered by the fact that you're driving the same car. The XF does have that exclusivity factor. If they wanted to socialize they would be a lot more people on the forum and going to GTGs. Sport Car enthusiast are a different breed, and will ask about the car, unfortunately there aren't that many around here, most people in Michigan are into the classics, which is fine with me.
