the area under the hood has a slight satin finish... but not to the degree of the exterior paint surface.
when my fender was replaced & painted i made sure the body shop did not clear the inner part of the fender edge as they did the exterior paint surface... they ended up applying just a base coat (& slightly buffed/rubbed out) to mimic the factory finish... it turned out perfectly as I had hoped.
