I've gone through all the audio sytem threads and really haven't seen my concerns covered. I have the standard audio system that comes on the Limiteds. I've tried the 200uF capacitor bass blocker modification which certainly helped with the quality of the bass sound, but I'm still unhappy with the overall sound.

To me there is a total lack of clarirty and an overal "thin" sound. There doesn't sound like there is much in the lower midrange, it's all bass and treble. The treble to me sounds overemphasized in their lower frequency which comes off sounding distorted. It's particularly evident when hearing things like cymbals which sound very harse instead of clear and crystaline.

So what's the problem? Is it the speakers or the head unit? Does the head unit have some pretuned EQ setting that just can't be overcome no matter what speaker you use? I'm just trying to figure out what to replace first.
