Default Re: magnaflow power?

I may have bought the first Magnaflow cat-back on the market.

Sorry to say, I don't have access to a dyno nor did I get a chance to do before and after 1/4 mile runs. So all I have to offer is subjective impressions.

(1) sound; now it sounds like a real sports car. Reminds me of a TR6 or early Jag with an ANSA or CORSA sport exhaust. Nice classic "big six" growl. There is some cabin resonance in my coupe @ 60-65 MPH in sixth gear around 1900-2200 rpm.
You may find this annoying, I just down shift or go a little faster.

(2) power; mind you, this is "butt dyno" subjective...I may have lost a LITTLE torque down low but the engine revs more freely and seems to pull harder from 3000rpm up to the rev limiter. Again, this may be influenced by the exhaust's sound. It hits it's "boomy" resonance right about where I'd shift in easy driving but it really sounds WICKED GOOD as the revs climb at WOT.

So is the car faster or am I just driving it harder ?

Hard to say but I am having more fun !

Cheers,

Slim
