An ECU tune may be able increase the allowable parameters of the meter and prevent the codes.

If anything it will run lean with too much air... but it won't... MAF MAP IAT TPS 02's are all interconnected to adjust the timing and fuel flow... Sad but true... The car will maintain 14.7:1 no matter what you do to it !!!
