Use this topside extraction procedure - this is how the dealership does it and the engines are designed for this method.

This is how I've changed my oil on Mercedes previously. Some on the MB and BMW forums have compared drain from bottom vs extracting from the top and the topside extraction removed more oil than draining.

Go with the manufacturer recommendation and save some time and effort.
