Control over 100 shaky
Went up to Ocala this weekend for a Mopar GTG at Don Garlits's museum and drove Ashley's SRT. Lots of great old cars a few nice new ones. I left Miami at 9:30 am drove 300 miles to Ocala using the Turnpike and arrived at 1:30 pm. I made a couple of stops so I made pretty good time. Ran into a couple of forum member and a couple of Toledo friends I grew up with. Always good to see friends.
On the way back I went the other route down I 75 and across Alligator Alley. I had been cruising around 85-90 most of the way and tailed a few going 100 plus. I felt better being the shadow rather then the pigeon. Well, about 5 minutes on the Alley a new 350Z went by me going 115-120. I tailed him most of the way (about 70 miles across the Alley), but unlike my car, my daughter's car was really tough to handle over 115. It was jumping everytime I hit a bump, so I had to keep it down under 110.
With my SRT, never a question or issue at high speeds. it is very tight and the suspension is stronger then Ashley's SRT.
I was using her car this past week and would bottom out over a few bumps that my SRT handled w/o any problem. I am beginning to wonder if her suspension was changed by the previous owner and maybe they put non SRT shocks or springs on it as a replacement!
A question before I call the dealer. Is the suspension covered under the 3 yr/36,000 miles? Or is this considered normal wear and tear?
Why would my car be so much tighter then Ashley's? Suggestions welcome.
My SRT has 18K hers has 20K.
