You might want to think twice about crawling under a car (especially a XFire with it's low ground clearence) with it just supported by a jack. Jacks have been know to suddenly go down by themselves.

If you use just a jack, use jackstands along with it as a failsafe.

Ramps are the safest way of supporting the car.
