Default Resale Value

Hey everyone,
It's been a long time since I have posted anything (Time flies when life is busy). I am the kind of person who gets real antsy with cars and a car will be lucky if it lasts a year in my fleet. I try to put these feelings off with a good 5 coats of zaino to make it sparkle and I fall in love with the car again.
Well this past week I found myself aching for a 4x4 and started negotiating over the internet on an FJ cruiser. I got the price down to invoice on a loaded FJ. I love my xfire srt6 but I got the itch... What can I say.
The problem is that our SRT-6's resale value has seemed to drop to an unbelievable level... Carmax offered $16k and various dealerships are offering $17k. I think this is insane!!! KBB shows trade in value at $27k. I had several offers all in the same ballpark of $16-17k.

Personally I think this is an insult to this car and would never allow someone to steal it at this price.

Is it that the car dealerships are just ignorant to the difference between an SRT and a limited crossfire? or are our cars just loosing value like crazy?

Well it is probably a blessing in disguise to make me keep my srt. I'm going to detail it and take it out on the expressway and open her up to fall in love again.

I hope no one will let thier car go for this rediculous price and help us keep our value up. Hopefully the used car market will rebound and in time people will realize how special these cars are and that they are worth far more than what is being offered now.

It seems like a great time to buy an SRT though.. so if you are in the market for one, you can probably get a great price.
