Default Re: TVT Design, an introduction

You need to lower the elbow legs to allow for proper clearance. The way my Intake is set up ther has been 0 rubbing for the entire time the system has been on the car.

As far as the weather I live in NJ and drive the car on a regular basis. If you live in NJ you know that the passed few weeks have been pretty wet, and nothing has affected the filter yet.

Jonnyangel04, I applaud you for your intake design, but unless the filter is located outside of the engine compartment, you will be losing HP ther is no doubt about it. I will pay for the dyno tests to prove this.

As far as creating an intake to maintain the stock covers, you will run into a few problems. One, in order for the cover to stay in you would need to either use the stock air box for filter routing, which due to the design restricts flow in comparison to a 3" pipe. The other option is to move your MAF and throttle body connecter to allow for a pipe to be run under the cover on the right side. You would still need to leave the stock tubes hooked up though or it would look wrong. Then you will have essentially three intake tubes, with only one being functional.

I personally feel that if you want to maintain the engine cover look that you powdercoat the manifold. It will allow for a beter intake, cleaner engine compartment, and a completely unique look.

Ok upon looking closer, it seems that for the base and limited models you may be able to adapt an srt-6 engine cover to still retain the look. The SRT-6 will not need to remove the cover. If this is a deal breaker, we may be able to include new covers (painted to your liking) with the intakes.
