I purchased an MB gear shift **** and want to replace my old ****. I did a search and found many discussions on the removal process. Supposedly the base screws off and then you remove the ****. However, when I try that with mine it doesn't move. When I apply a lot pressure with a padded pliers I start to scratch the collar. How does this process work?
