Re: Tire mounting pricing excuses
I just bought new Goodyear F1 all-seasons from Tire Rack and they have an installer section where you punch in your zip code and they provide you a listing of installers, some with price pledge showing you what they will charge. Big O Tires was on the list in my area and installed mine for $17.50/tire - no questions asked. Yes it apparently is harder to install lower profile tires and the guy at the Big O shop only lets the service manager mount 40 series or wider tires (at least that is what he told me). Granted I typically wouldn't take my beloved Xfire SRTs wheels and tires to a Big O store, but Tire Rack said if there was any problem they would work it out....I had none and it worked out. I have also used Discount Tire in my area with good service and price. My TPMS worked with no hitches (I mountes non SRT rims with all seasons for the Ohio winter and stored my SRT wheels with PS2s for next summer - the non SRT wheels had the TPMS sensors in the wheels and the car picked them right up - no issues.
