The goat has all kinds of issues including strut rub, horrible brakes/handling and the gas mileage...I averaged a little over 13 mpg! I had headers/exhaust/tune and the it ran 13.6@99mph at byron. Nothing to brag about basically. The gto board i'm sure by now is really bashing you. I would help you out there but I was banned for telling everyone how much better of a sports car the SRT is.
Are you going to bring that G to byron next year? If so we can finally meet.
BTW infiniti of Lisle has great warranty repairs and service. They put a brand new motor in my M45 a few months ago because I complained it burned a little oil. It was only 3 months before the warranty was up and they gave me a brand new longblock which cost Infiniti 12K! I bet Pontiac would never ever do that!

You Sir... Needed a driver mod... My buddy with only a Catback and canned tune went 13.1 on stock 18's... When we did our CSC/Viper day track event at byron (which you were too much of a pansy to come out too

) he went 12.80 with the Catback/Tune/AIT relocation/pedder drag springs... He just added a set of Kooks LT's and a better tune, so things should be around 12.5's on his stock 18's.
Was the GTO heavy? yes! mine came in at 3750lbs on the scale at Byron with little gas in it. Did the handling suck? I wouldn't go that far... but it wasn't anything "sporty". Gas mileage? mine = 11.7mpg. I wouldn't say that the SRT6 > GTO... Of course there are nutswingers and fanboi's in both area's, they are just 2 different types of coupe "sport" cars.
I already have a small issue with the car... one of the HID's went out last night... which should be covered under warrenty. I will have to join a couple of G35 forums too read up and any other possible issues.... I might also complain about the brakes, as they are pretty loud... but that just might be a function of the large rims/small side wall tires.
I rather go to "Gold Coast Infiniti" here in chicago, but if service is better out in Lisle. I just might have to give them a call.

I had 10,000 miles on mine and it was using more than a quart of oil for every 800 miles or so. The dealership did the prescribed oil consumption test and concluded there was a problem. Nissan came back and said that they are aware of the problem and are working towards a fix. Not sure how long that will take, but I didn't want to wait. I didn't feel like carrying a box of oil around in a car that I bought brand new for almost 40 grand. I know at least 15 others who have already had their engines changed. Check out the forums at
www.g35driver.com. Just search for oil consumption. Lucky for you, most of the problems are with the RevUp VQ engines in the 6 speed cars. They are the only ones with the higher performance 298 hp engines. The automatics have the 280 hp version. Good luck, keep checking the oil!!
Thanks for the heads up. Looks like you had the same car i do, but in MT
