I think 10000 is the normal interval on UK spec cars, mine actually went higher by 500 miles on the first service, but my jouneys are mostly 15 miles + in neither extreme hot or cold (rain doesn't alter the interval or I would have been in the garage most of the summer!)

No harm in going in a bit earlier no matter what the computer thinks.
