Default Tranny Issue!

Noticed a slight leak on the trans when doing an oil change, thought I'd share this with everyone. Found it to be where the 13 pin electrical connector goes into the trans. Yes...a case of inadaquate o-rings directly from the factory. The part cost was around $18.00 and an easy fix. Aparently there was an issue with this as the parts guy slipped up a little and said it's been upgraded. Oh well, there is two o-rings on the connector housing and one on the plug itself which they don't give you. This one need not be replaced though as it does not leak from here. Unfortuantely you have to drain the trans and measure exactly what you take out in order to restore it to a correct level. No dipstick, that's not a good idea. A temperature chart in the manual along with a part number for a dipstick is the right way to do this. Just try and find the dipstick kit, I think it would be easier to replace a limb. This car is like working on a go-cart. Very easy to get at everything from what I can see so far. Typical benz like features.
