If the issue at hand is the safety of everyone that shares the road, I think that doing 105 mph in any vehicle is considerably more dangerous than traveling at say, 65 mph.
But maybe I'm just being a party pooper.
What's the worst that could happen? Someone could die. Is going that fast on a public road worth the risk?
I hope that the law enforcement officials in my area have public safety in mind as first priority and would have the discretion to discourage someone by whatever means necessary of putting my life at risk by going as fast as they wish.
