Re: How to build a fast Crossfire
No disrespect at all It was a rant as you can read I was kinda upset and there are tons of errors, but I don't think I was out of line at all.. I guess what I am saying is I just want to see something new thats all I am all out of ideas. Most of the members on mbworld are about the 55s which is fine some of the concepts that apply to that engine also apply to ours. The 32s have some new buzz with LE in the mix but he has been around for awhile. I am reaching out for people to join sites, DON'T POST AND JUST READ. Read about VRUS who created a company VRP, that has created pulleys, carbon fiber air boxes, heat exchangers, carbon fiber engine covers, and now cams and even a tune. Read about Adam with evosport and how he started a company with a dream to make bmw's and Mercedes faster. He started with being a member on a forum, reading about a need for other forum members to want to make there cars faster and got the idea. Hell read post by HDDP where he is talking back and forth with Woody, Seriously you will not understand any of it, half the fun was searching Google or Wikipedia after reading a sentence to find out what the hell they were talking about. Look Woody up check out his website and the things he is coming up with. SEARCH AND READ.
WITH ALL THESE MINDS ON HERE I WANT TO COME UP WITH NEW **** and it just sucks reading THE SAME STUFF. You have been here for three months you don't get it yet wait till you read about your 25th post about a pulley and ecu. Or wait till you see probably close to my tenth intake and have everyone be so stoked because no one wanted to go weld one up themselves, IT's sad to see that people will drop $500 on something new that probably cost less then $300. I will break it down for you and lets pretend we all don't have TIG welders, most of us don't Including me. Order an $80 3in intercooler kit off eBay, Mock it up on your engine probably with tape that will work best, have a shop weld it up for probably $50, buy a 1ft X 3in rubber hose run it up to the grill buy a 3in 90 degree elbow and a K&N, put it all together with 3 hose clamps, and save $350. The K&N and the aluminum will probably cost close to $130. HDDP, STRYFOX, ME, AND probably a dozen more have all built intakes for less then that hell TVT has his on ebay already for less then $300 and it is probably only costing him $80 to make. This has turned into another rant but it all comes down to people not searching FOR THE BEST THING OUT THERE FOR THERE CAR, THE BEST QUALITY AT THE BEST PRICE. Or just thinking things up themselves being a real car guy and building it themselves.
And about your 12.2 to be completely honest with you I have only had my SRT6 crossfire for about 3 months and have only gotten to drive it for about two. This winter I will be doing all the modding and your 12.2 is the number ever since you have posted that I will be shooting for. It is a great time and I take back saying decent. Bottom line part of me just wants to see NEW threads with new excitement and this car running where I think it should... in the 11s. I think that Is very possible for less then $3,500 maybe even $2,500. I hope to prove this next summer.
This entire rant started with how to build a fast crossfire and reading members posting, that this is the information they needed, ohh I'm so glade someone posted about this is what I was looking for, and oh wow this is great to read I am going to go right out and get all the same products, Thank you for paving the way for us. It just kinda tweaked me because its all been on here before your not the first and I am sure you wont be the last. People used to do the search first and ask questions later, It is sad you don't see that anymore.
