This is just a theory as I don't know tons about the car, but maybe your steering angle sensor is going bad and when you go into a turn it either fails or displays incorrect information and the ESP kicks in. Just a theory, it doesn't seem too hard for the sensor to go bad, since mine supposed was throwing a code when I took it in a few weeks ago. Just a thought. I've never had the car brake in a turn though, ever.
