I have always loved the way they looked and that motivated me to try one out a year ago. I drove a base version with a 6-speed manual. It had the cloth seats that were manually adjustable. If you have ever tried to adjust the manually adjustable seat it takes some getting used to. I wasn’t able to get it set up right and as a consequence it was not very comfortable. I would have been willing to chalk that up to not being able to set it up right and would have purchased the car. Unfortunately though I was trading my '01 Cadillac STS in and the dealer offered me a laughable trade in for it. I think it was something like $2,500. The STS did have 125k on it but still. I am not going to get hosed on the deal. I wanted to get something with better gas mileage that was sporty so I continued looking and ended up buying a '06 Scion TC in December of last year. Of course I got a stick shift. Now my girlfriend doesn’t know how to drive a stick shift and I am thinking she will learn. How wrong I was!!! She refused to drive my Scion and that made going out (drinking) and road trips complicated. To make things worse I didn’t really like the TC very much after owning it for a few months. After driving it through most of this year I needed a new set of tires for it and that was enough of a reason to take a look around and see if it might be better to just save the $600 the tires would cost and get rid of it for another car. I looked on Autotrader on a whim while I was pricing the tires and there was my Crossfire at a dealer right around the corner from my house. It was an automatic with manual shifting (girlfriend happy, I am happy) had only 17,000 miles (less than the base model I had looked at a year earlier) they gave me a great deal on my trade and a great price on the crossfire too (much less than the base version from last year). It has leather and electric adjustable seats (now very comfortable) and the car had the Continental all season tires so I don’t need to spend any money on new rubber.
All is well that ends well. Loving my new Crossfire. And they lived happily ever after...
Wait until you have to buy new tires for your Crossfire!
