Hi Simon, no metal had to be cut. Check out the post I made in the Tech & Mod. section of the forum, I just cut the top off the plastic piece's on each side of the radiator support. The reinfroced 2&1/4 ID hose's will fit through there, I used two 5" long piece's to stick the intake tube's through after using a heat gun & some pipe to take the ends of the tube's from 1&3/4" to 2&1/4". I had a pic of the pipe stuck in the tube's showing how they expanded, but I didn't get that pic posted.

I may try this too, but if there is room to "slashcut" the new hoses I may do that to increase the size of "scoop" to force more air in. I was wondering if they did Adhesive heat shrink tubing in that size as that may make thing easier to join the pip together.
I would be interested to know how much difference it makes when you have a "comparable" day to test it on.
