I sent a question to Chris regarding the product on eBay and got what seems like a pretty polite and well reasoned response. It still sounds like Don is mostly pissed off about the pictures and I don't think that concerns anyone but them. Based on what I read from Don here, it doesn't seem like he was involved in the design of the grille so much as just tweaking it a little and it sounds like he would admit that himself. Honestly, maybe some of you know Don, but I don't really. Seems like a right fine chappy, but even the best of us can occassionally be involved in a misunderstanding, and I really think that's what this is. I can't really fault Chris for being ticked off a little. If someone were actively trying to assassinate my character, I think I'd be mad also. And I can also see why Don is ticked off. If I felt that I had an arrangement with someone and had put time and effort into it only to have it pulled out from under my feet... yep, that'd **** me off. So... yeah, I don't know that there's a right answer here for those of us who don't really know what happened and exactly what was said.

I think I think that if you really like the grille, get one. Chris isn't going to get rich selling a few of them. And it's not like he doesn't have an established enterprise selling such items, so there's no reason to suspect that he's going to purposefully screw anyone who buys one. And honestly, there are so few decent products available for our car. I don't think we should write someone off over some potentially 'borrowed' internet photos of their own product. If you're on the fence... wait and see what Don comes up with next. Perhaps he will achieve the holy grail of grillness.
