Good luck my man! You are going to love this car. Make sure you check the car out very closely and if there are any little defects like a scuff or scratch you can work with the dealer to write you up a work order to have the problem fixed. Make sure you get any promisses to fix something in writing. Get a car fax report too! Also check out edmunds.com and look at the buying guides and read "the confessions of a car salesman." Really good reads for anyone buying new or used. Another good tool is to use the internet sales department at the various dealers. Find yourself several different dealers that have the kind of car you want and send them an email requesting their best price on the car. Advise them in this email that you are soliciting prices from several other dealerships and that you will simply take the best price/package you find. After you get all of the responses look at what the lowest price is and then send an email to all of the dealerships again advising them of the best price you have received and then ask them to beat that deal. You can even ask for 1 year or life time free oil changes if the dealer is close to home. Always remember to nogotiate the buying price of the car you want separately from any trade in. Also, make sure that you don't fall into being a monthly payment shopper. Some less savory dealers will ask you if you will pay $490 a month for a car but not disclose what the length of the loan is. Also if you are financing the car look at getting your own financing through your bank or through capital one for instance who has a blank check program where they issue you a blank check and you write it out for what ever the car costs you.
Good luck and don't get caught up in wanting to drive the car home "today" If the deal is not right walk away.
