I have been reading some existing threads on using the Autostick in sport mode and also an article on the web from www.evo.uk about the option of holding the the shift lever in downshift for a couple of seconds. The owners manual touches this option briefly with little aplication examples. Evo says is an AMG trick of preselecting the optimum overtaking gear. They also say that it works well, shifts smoothly, and makes for a much more pleasing Crossfire. EpocMan has a thread on this that he says it's like driving a completely different car. I would like to know how many forum readers use this "Sport Mode" and what your opinion of it? Can it be used on a grand Prix type track or is it only for straight lin acceleration?

Also do you have to continue holding in downshift position or does it stay in sport mode even if you let up?
