Simple HID Install
Okay I know there are alot of install instructions on the forum but I figured one more will not hurt. I recently bought an H.I.D. kit to install in my xfire. I have put them in many cars, so it was not a hard install. First of all DO NOT REMOVE THE HEADLIGHTS, you can do the whole install for low beams without taking the headlights out. I guess you can call this install for dummies
First things first pull the cover off the back of the light(that's the rubber part covering access to the bulb.
Step One: pull the plugs off the headlights, it's a snug fit and you may feel like you are going to brake something but u will not just pull striaight back on the connector attached to the plug.
Step two: remove the light clip, there is a little silver clip that holds the light in place, push on the bottom part of the clip down and towards the fender. The clip is not loose just pull it up, and now the bulb pulls straight out.
Step Three: install the new bulb, simply put it in the slot, and reattach the clip.
Step Four: Now it's time to wire the bulb, the plug has two sockets one side has two wires running two it, the other has one. The socket with two wires is the negative, The one with one wire is the postive, simply plug the postive wire into the postive socket, plug the negative in to the negative socket.
Step Five: Mounting the Ballast, on the driver side there is a flat spot right below the headlight, you can use 3m double sided tape and place the ballast their, this is better then grounding it to an existing screw since alot of people have had issues with feedback becuase of it. On the passenger side you have two options one being below the low beam, or just behind the headlight assembly.
Also not when doing this install on the passenger side it is alittle tight but the hose that is restricting access to the headlight can be moved out of the way, just lift up on it and unwedge it from it's location just be carefull not to disconnect it.
This install is for the pilothid.com hid kit I have had it in 3 cars now and it works well plus it comes with a warranty against bulb burnout or ballast issues.
Hope this helps all the newbies
