I would try and replace the rear pads, and tighten down any visible bolts in the rear end. I don't think you have a bad diff.

eh this car is hell for the first 6 months of ownership, what with fixing stuff and everything. but after you get it running and tuned, you;ll have a big grin on your face in a year after you fix the bugs.
