SCHOOL TIME.....

The official OEM nomenclature for the plastic coupler that merges intake air from the two airboxes to the throttle body is called the "Air Intake Pipe" or so it says on my receipt from MB and the on-line catalogs. - I believe this is the part BDJ has manufactured using Aluminum and TIG welds.

The pipe with the MAF sensor is called the "Distributor".

That's the Official OEM NOMEN for those two parts.

The MB forums (right or wrong) interchange the "Air Intake Pipe" with the "Y-Pipe" when refuring to upgrading the stock SLK32 intake system with the SL55.

Technically speaking, there is no "Y-Pipe" on the 3.2L MB engine.

Good luck with your engine swap HDDP - it's looking good.
