When you finish with the clay bar, run your hand over the paint. Smooth as glass!
If you think your paint is smooth to the touch of hand try then placing a plastic sandwich bag over your hand and then run your hand across the paint again. If it still feels smooth and you don't feel any slight roughness on the surface the job is done.
