If you have to wax outside you really don't want to let the wax sit any longer than absolutely necessary for it to haze. You run the risk of all sorts of fallout (water is probably the least of these) that will scratch the paint as you then work to remove the hazed wax.

Otherwise, I wonder if removing the hazed wax with some dew on it would actually help to give you that "spit shine" look. Not sure I'd want to the unintentional experiment though.
