CoupeGirl is right. It's called a "Diminished Value Claim" got to exercise it when I had my '05 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited.
A lady rearended me while I was stopped at a redlight. Totalled her car. Only 3600$ damage to the Jeep. All cosmetic too. Before State Farm handed me the check I told them I wanted to file a diminished value claim, did all the paperwork there and was given $6,650.
Gotta love labor rates... Ended up lifting the LJ 5.5", tires, winch, etc. Good times. Took off all the stuff when I traded it in for my old Rubicon. Trade in what was I owed, then put most of that stuff on.
