You sound remarkably calm considering what has happened to your car. Were you still able to drive it after the accident as it looks like the back wheel would not have clearance to roll?
You just got this as a Christmas present and this is such a terrible thing that happened. I know you both were not injured and it could have been much worse if you hadn't taken fast action to steer away from the oncoming car.
I feel very saddened that you have had this happen and I sincerely wish you the best in getting her repaired. You must be heartbroken to see it like this. Gary
