Taking it to the dealer seems like it would be much easier, since anything that happens I could pin it on them..the extra cost wouldn't bother me that much.
Dealer install will most likely get you new keyfobs with remote button incorporated and bonus of no wires cut, considering cost and type of car we have is a good choice even if it does cost more.

Aftermarket downfall means you have one fob with key and one for remote starter, you still must use key in ignition and agreed finding a good installer is difficult, you have a very good sell for installing the OEM version..
