Re: Retro Examples
I've been thinking about this for a while - my first car was a '74 Porsche 914 and I find it quite similar to my '06 Crossfire Roadster.
Here are a few similarities
1) Manufacture
Both the Crossfire and 914 were manufactured by Karmann for a joint venture (VW-Porsche and DaimlerChrysler). I think they were produced in the same factory (my Karmann history is not that great).
2) Interior Layout
Strictly two seaters.
3) Exterior Design
Take a gander at the dimensions of the two:
Length – 13’4” (Crossfire), 13’3” (914)
Width – 5’10” (Crossfire), 5’5”(914)
Height – 4’4”(Crossfire), 4’(914)
Wheelbase – 7’11” (Crossfire), 7’11” (914) (94.5 on both, exactly the same)
Both designs were controversial – you either love the design or hate it.
4) Performance
For the time, both cars were not the fastest thing on the road but were more designed for handling then speed.
Of course, they vary in a lot of ways like engine layout and actual styling. But the similarities
