Wow, thats dangerous...has it ever happened again or did you rig up some kind of failsafe?
BTW, my service mgr was showing me how to turn off the service interval message(wrenches) and when he started the car back up the CEL was gone. He said it was just coincidence, and that after the car cycles through the warming up and cooling off process enough it will turn off automatically if the problem is not present.
