Default Re: What's your best gas mileage??

Putting it another way:

For every gradation on the fuel gauge I reckon on 40 miles in town and 50 on highway. So 240 to 300 miles per tank. I 'gun' it regularly.

As US and Imperial gallons are different and 95 octane is standard over in the UK; MPG comparisons from me are a bit misleading. If I want to pay about 10% more I can get 98 octane at most filling stations but then UK prices are the equivalent of about $8US per gallon already, for 95 octane.

If I fill the tank from (really) empty it's the equivalent of about $120US Still, the odd time I do put a fill of 98 octane in and it goes like stink . There are no track facilities in Northern Ireland but it would be interesting to see how the higher octane fuel boosts the performance on the standing quarter for stock build.
